Worth knowingAt its best in late spring and early summer

Prince Rainier had it made after her death in 1982, on the reclaimed land at Fontvieille. It holds several thousand rose bushes across hundreds of varieties, laid out in beds around a lake and a bronze statue of her.

It sits in a wider park with a lake, sculptures and enough shade to sit in, and it is used by residents rather than visitors, which is a good sign.

It is a rose garden. Out of season it is a pleasant park; in May and June it is the reason to come.

Combine it with the Fontvieille harbour and the car collection, which are both a few minutes away on the same reclaimed ground.
